Frequently asked questionsCan we choose our own music? As far as a first dance for a wedding goes, this is a song that means something very special to you as a couple so we ask only you specify which song you want. It's really good if you have two dances to start the evening off with. I'll let you into a secret - as far as this technique is concerned, obviously the first dance is traditionally for the bride and groom but the second dance presents an opportunity to invite your guests to join you then they stay on the dance floor as we kick off the evening function. Another good tip, when you send out your invitations you could include a request form asking your guests to include three of their favourite songs that they will dance to. Once you have received all the song choices back you can edit them and come up with a fantastic play list your guests have already said they will dance to. Alternatively you can compile your own play list which you can e-mail to us. Will we let you down?Every occasion that we are booked for is confirmed with a contract. It is basically written confirmation of our verbal agreement that we agree to turn up and provide a mobile disco and you agree to pay us the agreed fee at the beginning of your function. Should circumstances beyond our control occur where we cannot attend your function we will source you another disco of the same high standard and at the same price, supplying them with all the information collected from you. To date this has NEVER happened and we are certain it never will but it’s a safeguard we have in place to ensure you are not disappointed. Are you the DJ for the function?Yes! We would never dream about selling ourselves as we do then put another disco in to represent us. We have a 100% reliability record and a reputation that has taken a long time to build. That’s a reputation we aim to keep! Are you able to supply background music? We will play whatever kind of background music you would like, whether it’s classic, soul, light jazz or various up beat popular music. Most of the time our wedding clients will choose to book the full day option with DJ to provide this service for you. We will also supply you with a radio microphone system for speeches if required. What will you wear?We will usually turn up to your function wearing casual clothing. Once our equipment is set-up and in place we will change into something more formal – usually a suit. Is your equipment safe? All of our equipment is tested annually and certified for electrical safety. The majority of venues we perform at now require proof of our testing certificates before we even plug a single item into the wall. These certificates can be provided direct to the venue by us prior to the booking date. Do you have insurance? We have substantial public liability insurance. With more and more 'no win, no fee' legal companies around, it is really important to check that your DJ and Disco has public liability insurance. To date we have a 100% safety record. Will the disco be loud?Generally any disco will be loud, however, if at any point during the event, you feel that it is too loud we can accommodate your audio request! We never use inferior equipment which causes distorted sound. I've booked a band, can you work with them?We have no problem working with any type of act that is booked to appear at the same venue. We have worked with many bands in the past and have never had a problem. Are you available? How soon should we book?We operate a very strict ‘first come first served’ policy, this means that once we have accepted a booking for a specific date, the date in question is struck from our diary and nothing else will be taken on this day. Once a booking has been accepted, a contract is drawn up confirming in writing our verbal agreement. It is an agreement for a DJ and disco to turn up on the day and at the times specified and provide a disco, and in return the booker agrees to provide a fee at the beginning of the function. Please note if you cancel a confirmed booking you will incur a fee of 50% of the agreed amount. I’ve been quoted a cheaper price, can you match it?We understand that there are other discos that will quote you a lower price than ours. Our prices represent very good value for money. Ask yourself; does the other disco carry public liability insurance? / does the other disco have pat tested equipment? / does the disco set up consist of true high quality sound and lighting? / does the disco have a good reliability record? / Does the DJ have experience? / does the disco have personal recommendations / has the disco provided a contracted booking? Hurricane Roadshow can say YES to all of the above. What if I haven’t seen you before – will I like the service you provide?Well, if you want to take a look you can download a DVD from this website. It shows a short film taken during a wedding function which had music tailored to the personal choice of the bride and groom. How far will you travel to attend venues? You tell us where and when and we will be there. |
